Fashion still organizes itself around seasons, even as the way people actually dress has become much less predictable. GREG LABORATORY’s Fall/Winter 2026 collection takes a more durable approach. Titled “Time Loosens Reality,” Season 7 is built around garments meant to survive changing weather, repeated wear, and the gradual accumulation of character rather than simply looking relevant for one release cycle.

That philosophy starts with material. Every piece is designed, tested, and made in New York using performance-focused Japanese fabrics, with natural and synthetic fibers deliberately mixed according to what the garment needs to do. Returning pants arrive in heavier water-repellent cotton-nylon, while shirts and tailoring move into denser cotton-silk blends and textured poly-wool twills. The result is clothing that feels less tied to the traditional idea of a seasonal wardrobe and more concerned with building a small group of things capable of working repeatedly.

The newer pieces follow the same logic. A previous full-zip sweater returns in heavier double-face fleece. The technical jacket introduced for Spring/Summer 2026 has been rebuilt in mid-weight Ventile with a DWR finish, hidden chest and hand pockets, and pleating across the back that gives the jacket more volume. A new high-pile fleece vest is cropped at the waist and carries the circular chest pockets that have become one of the label’s recurring details.

What makes the collection interesting is the refusal to treat familiarity as a problem. GREG LABORATORY does not appear interested in replacing its wardrobe every six months. Pieces return, fabrics change, construction improves, and recognizable ideas are refined. In an industry that often equates newness with progress, the brand is making a quieter argument: a good garment should be able to become better because you kept it.

That makes “Time Loosens Reality” less of a seasonal theme than a design test. Clothes inevitably encounter rain, travel, movement, washing, wear, and changing taste. Designing around those realities creates a different measure of success than producing the most immediately recognizable item of the season. The question becomes whether the jacket still makes sense five years from now, and whether the years in between make it more yours.

GREG LABORATORY’s Season 7 collection is available online now.
