Favorite Brands: Carrots by Anwar Carrots

Carrots by Anwar Carrots, is a lifestyle brand based in Los Angeles California. For those who may not have been paying attention to the transformation of the West Coast hip-hop/streetwear culture over the past 10 years, Anwar Carrots may have evaded your radar.

Starting early on with friends Josh Peas and Casey Veggies, they formed Peas + Carrots International, a collaborative effort that was probably one of the dopest things to witness in a long time. When they finally opened shop it seemed like they couldn't go wrong- Casey on tour, and Josh and Anwar holding down the fort. Truly an example and testament to some young dudes out here getting to it. It's possible people.

Fast forward to 2014. I remember Anwar posting about the change in direction and read through a few of his IG comments. It was slightly disheartening because from the outside looking in P&C INT'L would be going strong for years to come. But nonetheless here we are.

Enter Carrots.

Carrots, By Anwar Carrots, is a lifestyle brand based in California. The brand is a dynamic concept; in part taking its cue from the founders pseudo last name and very apparent red hair. In an article published by The New York Times, it boldly announces that Anwar wishes his brand to liken itself alongside a retail giant like Martha Stewart more so than a popular streetwear name like Supreme. Why? Because by focusing on essentials and necessities, the likelihood of establishing a household name becomes far greater. The brand has aligned itself with a myriad of collaborators, from Puma to The Hundreds, and from K-Swiss to Game Of Thrones, nothing seems off limits. (Yeah, you read that right).

Much success going forward to this guy, we've been observing the climb from a distance.
